ImPrEP is an umbrella project conducted by the Evandro Chagas National Institute of Infectious Diseases/Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), Brazil, funded by Unitaid and supported by the Brazilian MOH. From 2018-2021, ImPrEP conducted a multi-site prospective, open-label demonstration study to assess uptake, acceptability and feasibility of same-day, daily TDF/FTC oral PrEP among MSM and TGW in Brazil, Mexico and Peru, including several sub-studies and analysis. This project unfolded in an implementation study aiming to generate evidence on feasibility, acceptability and effectiveness of incorporating injectable CAB-LA PrEP into existing oral PrEP public services in Brazil, offered to MSM, transgender or non-binary individuals, currently under implementation. The symposium will present on: racial disparities in HIV incidence among PrEP users; bacterial STIs among MSM and transgender women using PrEP; approaches to measuring adherence to oral PrEP; seroconversions among PrEP users; and factors associated with the choice between oral or injectable PrEP.
