Countries in some regions, including central, eastern, southern and western Africa, are seeing great progress and may achieve the 95-95-95 targets before 2025. However, many other countries are lagging and key populations are in danger of being left behind. As we get closer to the 2025 milestone, AIDS 2024 will be a critical opportunity to take stock of progress in the HIV pandemic and response. This session will highlight the experience of countries, cities and programmes in achieving results, and include a discussion of the elements of success and challenges going forward. This is also an opportunity to discuss the value of the target-setting exercise in setting ambitious goals before the 2026 High-Level Meeting on AIDS.
